Who it is for
The Glossary is for operational users, administrators and leaders working with Fides reports, including Housekeeping, Operations, Procurement, Finance and laundry partners. It is useful when reviewing a report, agreeing a measure or discussing a stock and service exception.
Four groups, 69 terms
- Core operational concepts: identity, encoding, reading events, cycles, dormancy, loss and stocktakes.
- Forecasting and procurement: annual needs, lead time, reorder concepts and forward stock risk.
- Inventory and stock management: Available Stock, PAR, Setup, Dormant, Lost, Damaged and stock coverage.
- Laundry performance and usage: turnaround, laundry cost per Available Room Night, invoice simulation and wash-related measures.
Read definitions in context
Some entries include a formula and the reports or decisions in which the measure is used. Similar names can describe different things: PAR Requirement is not PAR Usage, and an operational shortage can occur before stock reaches zero. Use the definition and the relevant operating context together.
The White Book explains the broader management framework. The Glossary provides the language for working with Fides within that framework. The supporting knowledge pages connect selected terms with practical hotel and laundry questions.
