How Fides measures laundry turnaround
Laundry Turnaround (Days) is the average number of days an article spends outside the hotel between dispatch to the laundry and clean return. It describes the time out of hotel circulation, not the duration of a washing-machine programme.

A Dirty Cycle records collection of soiled textiles from the hotel. A Clean Cycle records delivery of clean textiles from the laundry. Together with the recorded events, these concepts help describe how textiles leave and re-enter the hotel's operation.
The Fides Glossary relates turnaround to Laundry State of Service, Stock Coverage and PAR Requirement. Laundry State of Service considers turnaround, stock availability and service consistency. The useful interpretation includes both how long textiles are away and whether that performance is reliable.
Time affects available stock
A longer or less predictable circulation cycle can require a larger textile buffer to provide the same service. Adding stock may protect availability, but the evidence may also point to a collection, transport, hotel-handling or laundry-flow issue that the parties can improve together.
An average alone cannot show every delay. Read it with the relevant period, operational context and exceptions. A reliable return pattern and a variable pattern can produce a similar average while creating different service risks.
Turn the evidence into action
Agree which handoffs are recorded, review late returns and investigate recurring exceptions with the laundry. Assess any inventory or financial benefit against the actual owned, rented or hybrid model. Better evidence should support a shared operating discussion.
